The Boeing XPBB Sea Ranger was a prototype twin-engined flying boat Patrol Bomber built for the United States Navy. While a production order for some 500 aircraft was awarded to Boeing in 1941, the order was canceled in 1942 so that the plant could be used to build United States Army Air Corps bombers. The sole example actually completed was nicknamed "the Lone Ranger".
