Xinmin Secondary School is an autonomous secondary school in Hougang, Singapore. It offers classes taught in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. The school was founded as Sin Min Primary School in 1945. Secondary classes began in 1956.Under the direction of former principal Mr. Lee Hak Boon, the school became autonomous, emerging as a popular school. As of 2005 the Principal was Mrs Low-Sim Ay Nar. In September 2005, the school won the School Excellence Award, the first neighbourhood school to win the award.
