[edit] Translation from Simplified Chinese

I have translated part of this article with help from google translate. It is not perfect, but yeah, so that people who cant understand chinese can read. more translating would be greatly appreciated. Da 1!

Thanks.. Machine translation does not make sense at all though. I'll modify it. AQu01rius (User | Talk | Websites)  01:47, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 60,000 colleges?

Is it that 60,000 modern colleges were built before the Xinhai Revolution, or is that there were 60,000 students enrolled? Please clarify. 60,000 colleges in 7 years sounds pretty ambitious. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 04:48, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] military conflict box

Are there any figures in regards to the specifics of each side? (Yuan Shikai seems to be a wildcard though - he can be a third faction.) Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 18:00, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't think there's an exact figure on casualties of the participants. Plus, I don't think it's necessary for a conflict box because there was few major engagement between the revolutionaires and the Qing Army. Majority of the Qing Army were Han Chinese, and were sympathetic to the revolution. --AQu01rius 01:00, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article expansion

Okay, I am going to expand this article. An epic event like the Xinhai Revolution being stub-ish is simply unacceptable.

I'm almost there. Woosh. Thanks to all that helped on cleaning up my writing  :) AQu01rius (User | Talk | Websites)  18:25, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Use of pinyin for all names

There is mixed usage for Chinese romanization here, for example Huang Hsing is in Wade-Giles. I think that given the time period, being rather close to the present, the use of pinyin only, without Wade-Giles, is appropriate. The only exception should be Sun Yat-Sen given that this is the historically accepted form at least in English. I will start to do that unless there is dissent on the subject. [edit] Hui / Society

Should we unify the usage of "Society" and "Hui"? Right now it's mixed and it's sort of confusing. AQu01rius (User | Talk) 05:23, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
