Xiangxiong

Xiangxiong (Chinese: 象雄),sometimes referred as Yangtong (羊同), Shantong (单同), Guge (古格) may be the oldest kingdom appeared in Tibetan Plateau. Its location was approximately the nowadays Ngari Prefecture. In the 8th century, it was conquered by Tubo. It was recorded in Han Dynasty records as Shantong. Xiangxiong had its own writing system.

Around the 10th century another kingdom was established in the same area of Xiangxiong, the Guge.
