Xenogears Light | an arranged album is an album of 20 acoustic remixes in a contemporary and generally relaxing, or "light," style. The album contains arrangements from the Squaresoft game Xenogears, for which Yasunori Mitsuda composed the soundtrack. The original concept of the album, dubbed Xenogears: Shake the Ivories, was for every track to feature standalone or multitracked piano, but this plan was later scrapped in favor of a broader approach in which a piano was merely the predominant mode of instrumentation.

A fan-made production, OneUp Studios licensed the use of the original music arranged for the album from Square. In order to obtain the content for this album, OneUp Studios originally planned to arrange and produce all the tracks in-house, but later opted to hold an open audition for fan-made MIDI arrangements of Xenogears. Once tracks were approved, the OneUp Studios staff then performed each track via a combination of samples and live performance. Due to space constraints, some submitted tracks had to be left out, but every artist who submitted an arrangement was represented by at least one track on the album. The album's catalog number is OUS-003.
