Xavier Ellis (born February 28, 1988) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the AFL's Hawthorn Football Club. Drafted by Hawthorn with 3rd overall pick in the 2005 AFL Draft, he is a medium sized midfielder or defender, and has shown great footy smarts. Many believed Collingwood would take him with their no. 2 pick, but instead they opted for Dale Thomas, prompting the Hawks to declare recruiting him had been a major coup.

In 2006 Ellis focussed on completing his year 12 (final year) studies and playing football for Melbourne Grammar School, where he was co-captain of the 1stXVIII. Unfortunately, his season was wrecked by injuries, but he managed to play several games for Hawthorn's VFL affiliate Box Hill Hawks, where he played well.

Ellis had a few injury scares over the 2006/07 pre-season, especially concerning his hamstrings, although he has overcome these problems, and has made his senior debut against Fremantle as part of the NAB Cup practice matches.
