[edit] Sound

I disagree that it sounds like a clarinet above about an A - to my ear, it sounds a lot more like a soprano sax in the second octave - but this is a matter of opinion, so I won't try to press the issue if you really want to say that it sounds like a clarinet throughout its range. No, if you think that's what it sounds like you should add that to the article. I don't play the instrument but have a friend who uses it so I'm probably not as familiar with the sound as you are. I had thought it sounded like a clarinet straight through (because it has a conical bore, like a clarinet) but you're right, it probably sounds brighter and a bit rougher than a clarinet in the higher register, maybe more like a tarogato. The sentence describing its sound is still a little confusing; it isn't clear if "its" means the xaphoon's lower register or the clarinet's lower register, though I'm pretty sure you meant the xaphoon's lower register. I wonder if the sentence structure could be clarified to avoid any confusion about this. Badagnani 03:19, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pocket Sax

"Its versatility, tone, low price, and portability made it a suitable alternative to the harmonica or tin whistle for travelers who wish to bring an instrument with them in their pocket." This sounds a lot like an advertisement to me, which would violate NPOV. Am I alone in seeing it that way? AdamBradley 15:48, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Here's the edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Xaphoon&diff=33708628&oldid=33695828 -- probably it could be reworded. Badagnani 19:01, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
