Wyoming High School is a public high school located in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. Wyoming is part of the Wyoming City School District, Hamilton County, Ohio. Wyoming High School is known for its excellence in education, and was ranked among the top five districts in the state on the Ohio 2006 State Report Card, with a performance index rating of 108.6. This was its second year running of being one of the top-performing school districts in the state of Ohio. In 2005 the district was first overall with a score 108.2 In 2006, it was ranked 100th of Newsweek Magazine's Top 1200 Schools.

Wyoming offers a challenging curriculum, including many Advanced Placement classes. These include AP European History, AP Biology, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP Art 2D, AP Art 3D, AP English, AP French, AP Spanish, AP Latin, AP American History, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Statistics and a world-renowned AP American Government program. Wyoming's class of 2004 was ranked first among medium sized schools in the subject. [1]

Wyoming is a very strong arts school. It offers many music programs, including three string orchestras, a band, and multiple choir programs. There are also many other courses offered in the arts, such as Computer Graphics and Photography, as well as three separate AP art classes.

In addition to art, Wyoming also offers technology-based classes, such as Video Production and Computer Science.

Spanish, French, and Latin are offered in five separate levels at Wyoming. Each language has levels I, II, III, IV, and V (AP), available to every student.

[edit] Extra Curriculars

Wyoming has many extra-curricular activities, such as its "Project LEAD" service organization, "Icarus" writing publication, an excellent Mock Trial team, and many others.

In recent years, Wyoming's Science Olympiad, JETS, and Academic Teams have been some of the most successful extracurricular groups in the school. In both 2005 and 2006, the Science Olympiad team won medals at the Ohio state competition.

Also of note is Wyoming's outstanding drama program, which is based in the Pendery Center Auditorium, a state-of-the-art facility that was completed in the year 2000. Recent productions include the musical, Oklahoma!, and the drama The Unnatural and Accidental Women.

Wyoming is part of the Cincinnati Hills League (CHL), a small school league with other small schools - mostly from east of Cincinnati. Other schools include Deer Park, Finneytown, Indian Hill, Madeira, Reading, Taylor, and Mariemont. Wyoming offers 22 varsity sports. They are as follows:
