Wyangala Dam (Lat -33.971683°, Lon 148.957445°) is a large water storage facility located near the town of Cowra in New South Wales, Australia. The dam is formed at the confluence of the Lachlan River and Abercrombie River. It is used for irrigation purposes and flood mitigation. It is the major dam on the Lachlan River system which feeds the Murrumbidgee River which in turn feeds the mighty Murray River.
There is a small town named Wyangala located beside the dam wall. It was developed as the dam was being constructed and still services the area. Wyangala Dam is a popular recreation and camping area in the district.
