WXHB, also known as "96.5 The Hub" and "Pine Belt Solid Gospel", is a Southern Gospel radio station servicing Hattiesburg, Laurel and several other towns and communities in an area of South Mississippi known as the Pine Belt.
After several ownership and, thus, format changes, the station is currently owned by Blakeney Communications.
WXHB broadcasts on 96.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 25,000 watts.
[edit] Programming
- WXHB is an affiliate of the Salem Radio Network. The station carries SRN News at the top of each hour during regular programming.
- Sunday mornings, WXHB airs the nationally syndicated program The Gospel Greats, hosted by Paul Heil.
- Monday nights, WXHB airs Gospel Grass, two hours of bluegrass music hosted by local broadcaster David McPhail.
- WXHB also carries live coverage of sporting events involving local teams -- including University of Southern Mississippi baseball and women's basketball, Jones County Junior College football and Petal High School football and baseball. Due to conflicts in schedule with Petal High School baseball, some Southern Miss baseball games air on WXHB's sister station, WXRR.
