WUMB-FM
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WUMB-FM (91.9 FM, Boston, Massachusetts) is the radio station of University of Massachusetts Boston, and one of the more influential folk music stations in the country.[citation needed] It can be heard all over Massachusetts thanks to repeater signals owned and operated by the UMass in Worcester (WBPR 91.9 FM), Newburyport (91.7 FM), Falmouth (WFPB 91.9 FM), and Orleans (WFPB-AM 1170). (WFPB-AM was originally a sister station of WKPE-FM until it was donated to UMass in 1999 by its then-owner, Grancam Communications.) WUMB-FM can also be heard on the Internet and through the iTunes radio tuner service.
They are noncommercial and operate in a manner basically consistent with a United States-style public radio station, and also carry some NPR programming.
