WUBT
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WUBT is a Mainstream Urban FM radio station broadcasting in the Nashville, Tennessee market on a frequency of 101.1 mHz.
Licensed to Russellville, Kentucky, WUBT was orignallly WBVR ("The Beaver"), a country music-formated station which received minor Arbitron ratings in the Nashville market (the callsign is now used by another, similar station) and was later aimed at the Nashville market, first in the "smooth jazz" format and later as "The One", a contemporary Christian music outlet. The current usage of the station is now a Urban Hip-Hop/R&B Station known as 101.1 Tha Beat Jamz.
As WUBT, the station has become quite highly-rated in the Nashville market. It is controlled by Clear Channel Communications.
The call letters were previously assigned to Chicago at 103.5 where it aired a jammin' oldies format. It only made a small dent in ratings with the exception of when they had legendary Chicago radio personality Larry Lujack doing a Saturday show. Lujack did the show from his house in New Mexico with his co-host, Matt McCann from the Chicago studio. The show was highly rated but the format changed and became KISS FM with a top 40 format.
