WSAW-TV, channel 7, is a CBS television affiliate serving north central Wisconsin, USA. It is owned by Gray Television and its city of license is Wausau, Wisconsin. Its transmitter is located in Wausau.

[edit] History

WSAW signed on the air on October 23, 1954, as WSAU-TV, an affiliate of all four networks at the time (CBS, ABC, DuMont, and NBC). By 1965, it was sharing ABC with WAOW, and in 1966 WSAU lost ABC when WAEO-TV (now WJFW-TV) signed on from Rhinelander. That left WSAU with CBS, its current affiliation. In the Fall of 2006, they added MyNetworkTV to its DT2 subcarrier.[1]

In 1981, the station changed its call letters to WSAW-TV after its owners sold the AM and FM sister stations.
