Writer's Block Volume 1 is the first solo mixtape by J.R. Writer of The Diplomats. Released in late 2004, this mixtape was largely produced by fellow Diplomat Johnny Goodrum, but the most expensive instrumental was produced by Knoxville. This mixtape sold 79,000 copies in the U.S. and was mainly freestyled, with at least 16 known freestyles.
