WRBS (AM)

WRBS is a AM radio station in Baltimore, Maryland, brodcasting on 1230 kHz.

The station was pervioulsy known as WITH. It was owned by Salem Communications and featured Salem Radio Network's national conservative talk lineup such as Bill Bennett, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, and Hugh Hewitt.

In July of 2006, Peter & John Radio Fellowship acquired WITH. The calls were changed to WRBS in December 2006. Their FM station on 95.1 became WRBS-FM. Until the late 1980's WRBS 95.1 employed a Christian Teaching, Preaching, and traditional music format. By the 90's WRBS 95.1 evolved into more of a Contemporary Christian Music format with less teaching but still some. Many listeners missed the traditional format. WRBS 95.1 also became a Commercial outlet in the late 1990's.

Finally with the acquisition of AM 1230, Peter & John Ministries could reinstate the Traditional format formerly on WRBS 95.1. The station runs Christian Preaching, talk, and teaching features throughout the day. They also run programming from Moody Broadcasting. They also play music a few hours a day. This music is mostly traditional hymns and songs with a few lighter early Contemporary Christian artists. WRBS 1230 is what WRBS FM used to be except WRBS 1230 also accepts advertising.
