WPZ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WPZ is a three-letter acronym that may stand for either:

  • Western Plains Zoo, the most important zoo in inland Australia
  • widespread permafrost zone, definied in soil science as the area where permafrost covers between 50 and 90 percent of the ground. It is more usually called the discontinuous permafrost zone, which is distinguished from the SPZ or sporadic permafrost zone where permafrost cover is below 50 percent, and the CPZ or continuous permafrost zone where all or almost all land is covered by permafrost.
