Worthington is an unincorporated community in Putnam County, Missouri, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, its population was 89.

Worthington is located at 40°24′32″N, 92°41′20″W (40.408966, -92.689019)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Worthington has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 89 people, 42 households, and 27 families residing in the village. The population density was 286.4/km² (726.8/mi²). There were 58 housing units at an average density of 186.6/km² (473.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the community was 100.00% White.

There were 42 households out of which 31.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.2% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.7% were non-families. 28.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.12 and the average family size was 2.56.

The population was spread out with 20.2% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 29.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 134.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 136.7 males.

The median income for a household in the community was $11,964, and the median income for a family was $10,625. Males had a median income of $20,417 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $7,396. There were 52.0% of families and 42.1% of the population living below the poverty line, including 60.0% of under eighteens and 14.3% of those over 64.
