My Sister = My Clock (1995) |
Worst Case Scenario is a 1994 album by dEUS. The cover art was designed by guitarist Rudy Trouvé. It contains the single Suds & Soda, which was to become an underground hit and a fans favorite.
The album was first released in Belgium on the indie label BANG! with a different tracklisting: Right as Rain and Great American Nude (both tracks present on the Zea EP released in Belgium in 1993) are replaced by the song Let Go. It was then released in the UK and Europe through Island Records with the tracklisting as written below.
Worst Case Scenario received good reviews internationally, and this despite the impossibility for the British medias to categorise its music into a genre. They finally called it Art Rock (a definition who still bothers singer Tom Barman).
"PRETENTIOUS ART WANK? Possibly. But as a big fan of art & wanking I make no apologies for proclaiming dEUS the most refreshing young guitar aspirants of 1994" (Peter Paphides, in Time Out, 1994).
Worst Case Scenario reached Gold in Belgium by selling 30,000 copies while it sold around 150,000 worldwide.
