Worminghall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Worminghall is a village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Aylesbury Vale near the border with Oxfordshire, about three and a half miles west of Thame.

The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'Wyrma's nook of land'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was recorded as Wermelle. There are some scholars who suggest the village name actually refers to a wyrm, or dragon.
