World Championship Soccer is a Sega Genesis video game released in June 29, 1989. It is the first 16-bit graphic soccer game, featuring over 20 different countries and can be played with up to two players. This game was released in two different versions: Original and Sega Classics. This game went for US$19.99 when first released.

There are three different modes: Practice, Tournament, and Two-Player Mode. Each contry has their own ranking and stauts. The best rated contry is Brazil, while the worst is USA and Japan. Three different theme music's play while you are playing. The team you choose will decide the music chosen. 90 minutes is set for game time and if a tie occurs, a tie breaker is done by kicking more soccer balls into the goal than your opponent. But watch out for the goaly. The game is played from a bird's eye view, except for the tie breaker, which is a forward 3D view.
