Worldwit and all of its chapters shut down abruptly as of March 26th, 2007. The previous week, Founder Liz Ryan had her employees post a note that the worldwide communities would come to a halt in two days.

Ad revenue was weak, and this free listserv model failed after 7 years serving its loyal communities across the world.

Worldwit's Chicago women are especially saddened (Chicwit.org) and looking forward to a business person who can carry on the legacy, even if that means paying for the invaluable referral-based listservs.
