Workspot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Workspot was a Linux desktop Web Service, that provided personal computing without computer ownership. Launched in 1999, it was the first application service to make use of Virtual Network Computing. It was a non-profit project, and provided a free online demo of the Linux desktop.

It has now stopped taking new subscribers and, currently, is not providing even its online demos due to equipment failures. The subscribing issue has been like this for a number of months and unless they receive new equipment and resolve the problems this project looks defunct.
