Working hard on active duty, The strongest helper (Japanese: 的外れ 見えてきた標的 - Matohazure, Mietekita hyōteki) is episode 200 of the anime series Naruto.

Naruto's group is speechless at the amount of exploding tags concealed in Konoha. The group begins to work to disable the tags without Gennou's knowledge, but there are not enough people and the progress is too slow. Gai and the rest of the Konoha jonin rush back towards the village, but Shikamaru doesn't think it will make any difference: Gennou must have already taken the timing of their return into account.
The village elders, Homura and Koharu, appear to help (and trade insults with Tsunade). Searching in a distant part of town, Koharu uses an unnamed technique to locate and pull out an explosive tag from behind a wall, as if it were incorporeal. The two elders conclude that by the type of array used on the tags, and the fact that the tags seem to have been planted in areas that were more important targets thirty years ago, the tags must have been concealed as part of a plot a very long time ago. Then they go back to Tsunade and tell her what they have found. Shikamaru, piecing this together with the diary of the carpenter's father, realizes that Gennou was the one who used the original letter of introduction: it was a forgery as well, and was destroyed to conceal this fact.
As Tsunade relates, Gennou was from the Hidden Dragonfly village, a now destroyed shinobi village which Jiraiya had led a successful attack on thirty years ago, leading to a cease fire. Because of this cease fire, Gennou never had a chance to use his explosives on a counter-attack as he had planned and has now returned to make use of his work because as he tells Naruto he doesn't have long to live anyway.
Naruto, having spotted something in the carvings of the Hokages and gone there to investigate, has already learned all this straight from the source: Gennou, who has been hiding behind the head of Third Hokage. Gennou tells Naruto what Shikamaru has simultaneously figured out: the explosive notes are all just a distraction. Gennou states that along he was just using Naruto to gather information, which outrages Naruto, who truly liked him. With his special jutsu, Gennou detonates a note at Naruto's feet without a fuse and brags that his true trap is hidden elsewhere.
