Workers' Party (Turkey)

Workers' Party (Turkey) (in Turkish: İşçi Partisi) is a socialist political party in Turkey led by Doğu Perinçek (tr). İP has its roots in the Revolutionary Workers and Peasants Party of Turkey (TİİKP) and Workers and Peasants Party of Turkey (TİKP).
İP combines its revolutionary rhetoric with a hardline Turkish nationalism, which supports Kemalism and the armed forces' influence on policies. Concerning Cyprus, Greece or Armenia, it shares its positions with the far right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). Diaspora members from both parties collaborate together when the aim is to take out an Armenian genocide memorial and similar actions. It supports the position of Rauf Denktaş in Cyprus. On the international level, it is linked with CPC and International Eurasianist Movementof Aleksandr Dugin.
İP publishes weekly magazine Aydınlık, monthly review Teori and monthly science journal Bilim ve Ütopya. They also run a TV-channel called Ulusal Kanal and own the publishing house Kaynak Yayınları.
The youth wing of İP is known as Öncü Gençlik.
