Wordsley School

The Wordsley School is a secondary school located in Wordsley, Stourbridge, which is in the West Midlands of England. It was built in about 1960 to serve the growing area around the border of Stourbridge and Brierley Hill, and its site does infact straddle the borders of the two towns.

Until September 2002, the school was known as the Buckpool School. Its current head teacher is Michael Lambert, former deputy head of Cradley High School, who arrived at Wordsley in January 2001 to succeed Stephanie Sherwood.

In the 2005/2006 academic year a House system was introduced. Currently there are 4 houses (Doulton,Stuart,Tudor,and Webb) each with their own "Heads of House". Students gain house points as rewards for Good Work in After School Activities,Homework,etc. The students hand in their house points and merits to their respective Head of House and at the of the school year the House with the most House Points win the House Cup.

Murder victim Carl Bridgewater was a pupil at the school at the time of his death in September 1978.
