Template talk:World Cup Squads

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please feel free to add in your ideas and ways to improve this template for usage in old squad templates which may be cluttering up player articles.

Hopefully if we can get this to work properly, all previous world cup templates can be converted. Additionally such templates could be used for "special squads" at certain clubs which may have achieved a great deal. Myabe one of these collapsable templates could be used for the Liverpool squad which won the 2005 Champions League etc.

In using these collapsable templates, the players articles won't be as cluttered and ideally, each article would be improved.

Thanks for all the effort.

[edit] Kingjamie's idea

I think we should make all the squad templates for all the major international tournaments (World Cup's, European Championships etc) and hide the one where there country did make the final like Paolo Maldini's on the Itailian version [1] and put the "Hide" tag on the ones where the player wasn't in the winning squad.

  • You mean basically putting the hide feature on every template except those where the country won the tournament in question ? My only extra addition here is that current club squad templates should be left as they are.Niall123 19:53, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Put into usage

I'm after changing all the old Italian squads into the new format.

Check out Paolo Maldini. I think it looks far neater. Niall123 13:49, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] no

You should create a master template like I did then you can edit the others alot easier. I have already done this, I have also changed the flags to go inside, it looks 100 times better in my opinion. Squadoosh 09:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
