[edit] Faces and heels

IMO I think wrestlers should be sorted by faces and heels...just my 2 cents--Jdrouskirsh 09:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stables and tag teams section

Do we really need to wikilink the wrestlers in that section when we already link to them elsewhere on this page? It seems kinda redundant. --James Duggan 19:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Just read Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links), and it says:

A link for any single term is excessively repeated in the same article, as in the example of overlinking which follows: "Excessive" is more than once for the same term, in a line or a paragraph, because in this case one or more duplicate links will almost certainly then appear needlessly on the viewer's screen. Remember, the purpose of links is to direct the reader to a new spot at the point(s) where the reader is most likely to take a temporary detour due to needing more information.

--James Duggan 20:13, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Armando Alejandro Estrada

I noticed that on WWE.com that they have dropped Alejandro from his name. I was just wondering if they've made that change on TV as well, as I haven't been paying much attention to Raw the past little while. --James Duggan 21:11, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah i think WWE has dropped Alejandro because his WWE.com profile now only says Armando Estrada and last week's RAW Coach said "Tonight it will be Johnny Nitro, The Coach, Umaga & Armado Estrada taking on John Cena". ---Belevsquad 04:08, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
However, Lillian Garcia introduced him as "Armando Alejandro Estrada" and that is what appeared on-screen as well. WWE.com is not always right, they only recently changed Mr. Kennedy's bio to say "Mr. Kennedy" as "Ken Kennedy" despite the fact that he only used "Ken Kennedy" once (his first week) and started to be called "Mr. Kennedy" after that. TJ Spyke 06:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed that on TV they sometimes slip like that. I'm just wondering, with discrepencies sometimes between TV and their website, I whas just wonder which one we should use when there are discrepencies like that. The "!" on SmackDown comes to mind. --James Duggan 04:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
I think they're just referring him to Armando Estrada because it's easier to say, but that is still his stage name. Although in past instances they have fazed it out, which is what will likely happen here. IMO, either way works--Jdrouskirsh 09:51, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Indeed, it's just so that it is easier to sya and write, the fact that him saying the three names is a large part of his charachter means that both will likely be used. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.14.203.110 (talk) 20:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Victoria Crawford

I noticed when scrolling down the roster listing i found Victoria Crawford listed. Thinking that it might have been a typo error, I clicked on the link (which was still there at the time) and found that her page was deleted. According to ovwrestling.com, there IS a Victoria Crawford in OVW. Therefore, the link to her wikipedia page should be put back on, and her page itself needs to be reinstated. Mrsteak613 22:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, as you figured out, it's not an error that she's on this page, she is currently training and wrestling in OVW. As for the article, I don't think she'd be considered notable enough yet for it to be reinstated, she hasn't done much in OVW yet as it is. I'd just leave things as is for now. --James Duggan 00:34, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rob conway

its now almost definite he will be in Smackdown with sylvan. i got my source from pwmania and pwtorch so look it up your self. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.132.172.7 (talk) 03:12, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

That is still considered a spoiler, so we can't move him until he shows up on SD TV. --James Duggan 03:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] References.

I added an unreferenced tag to this article and it was removed. Why? The article has no sources, and they are mandatory. -- Kevin Browning 06:42, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Categories.

The categories in this article are arbitrary and there are too many. There is no reason not to include RAW Superstars because of subjective determinations of whether they are "active." There is also no reason to differentiate between "wrestlers" and "other talent", as many of those listed here at times do participate in wrestling matches. I am going to reformat this page to comply with WWE's own single, comprehensive and more easily organized and maintained category: Superstars for RAW and SmackDown!, Extremists for ECW. There is no reason to divide male and female talent either. Since this is a somewhat major reorganization, I would like input here. -- Kevin Browning 06:52, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I dunno, I think the division is good, to me it seems more organized that way. Just because WWE.com has it one way doesn't mean we have to. And while WWE.com might not divide them, I like that we have wrestlers and non-wrestler seperated, and WWE talks about the Divas, and they have their own page, so I think we should seperate then out as well. Plus if a non-fan sees this page the way you're proposing, they won't know whose a wrestler and who's not. If you go through the archives for this talk page, you'll see that format changes like this have been discussed before, and this format is what was pretty much settled on. And thanks for bringing it up here first. Too many times editors will change it without discussion, leading to edit wars and arguing on here. --James Duggan 07:29, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and reformatted it. I'd like to know what you think of it. If there is consensus for it to be reverted, so be it, but I think it is more consistent and NPOV this way. Either way, I have provided references for future use even if the prior version is reverted to. -- Kevin Browning 07:46, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, I haven't done every section yet, nor is it alphabetized yet. -- Kevin Browning 08:00, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

That looks like shit. This page shouldn't be a mirror of WWE.com. And what's the point in referencing their WWE.com profile when they link to their Wikipedia page anyway, it's redundant. --James Duggan 08:21, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Instead of referencing each performer, can't we just reference the individual roster pages? James Duggan 08:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

A few things: I re-added the main roster header because the OVW and DSW rosters aren't on par with Raw, SD and ECW, so we need to make that differentiation. Also, I don't think we need to include the "Superstars" term, as this page insinuates that anyway, so I put it back to just the brand name. Or, we can have "Superstars" as a sub group of the brand, just like the referees sub group. --James Duggan 09:04, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I added the under construction template to let people know that we're going through this. James Duggan 09:15, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey guys im just saying that this is wrong and we should have left it how it was because it was very helpful and useful when i was new to wiki and WWE. No offense but it looks more crap and confusing. ---Belevsquad 11:07, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

thank you to whoever changed it back. like the guy said before me, when i was new on wikipedia and lookin at the wwe roster this was an organized way to do it. the other one didnt even name tag teams Nyycraze13 05:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Real name discussion II.

From the archive:

"6 Listing Real Name

Does anyone else think maybe we should get rid of the real names in parenthesis. I think it looks kind of bad that since some people use their real name, it's not next to them. It looks inconsistant and ugly. Crazy4metallica 19:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

You're right. Besides, if people want their real names, they can look in the article.--Yugioh73036 02:12, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036

Real Names are needed so new vistors can learn that they have real names, plus it's to tell the diffence between seperate people with the same name (ex. the Kane storyline from earlier this month). Plus its an unwritten rule that pro wrestling rosters have the real names next to them.

we're keeping the real names --Jigsaw12 15:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

but the rosters on wwe.com don't have the real name so how is that a rule Crazy4metallica 10:43, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

That's because WWE follows kayfabe, we don't. --Dubhagan 19:08, 28 July 2006 (UTC)"

I say real names are not needed on this list. It is simpler and more efficient to just put the ring name (which may be the real name). Simply clicking on that wrestler's link will provide the real name. -- Kevin Browning 08:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Real names prevent confusion, and actually add INFORMATION which is what Wikipedia is about, rather than following kayfabe. The articles are normally named after the wrestlers' real names anyway which makes more sense to include the real names 210.49.237.25 15:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Time to Archive

Im not sure on the whole Archiving concept in wiki but could someone Archive this page. It's getting a bit big. -----Belevsquad 01:50, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, i'm not quite sure. Talk pages are usually archived when they get to 32KB, which this one isn't yet. TJ Spyke 03:22, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I have archived the page. BionicWilliam 03:27, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Untouchables working Smackdown/ECW House Shows

Several wrestling websites have reported that the team of the Untouchables from OVW of Deuce and Domino with their valet Cherry have been working Smackdown/ECW House Shows with wins being booked against the teams of Funaki and Jimmy Wang Yang. I do not think though we should move their names to the Smackdown roster just yet until they appear on TV in at least a promo video at least, however.

Zdunne 11:43 10 January 2007 (UTC).

Yeah i read about that too they may not even be called up yet. i think i remember them working a dark match at a smackodwn tapings and month or a 2 ago. we should wait until they are called up. and what happened to the OVW and DSW rosters??? Nyycraze13 21:30, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DX

With Triple H being injured for the next 4-6 months, shouldnt the stable be removed, or moved to inactice stable? just a thought,Cradle666 16:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I think we should leave it on until they announce it is gone. They could add more people or Shawn could still use the DX gimmick.Freebird Jackson 23:43, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

fair pointCradle666 17:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

People keep removing DX as a stable, but Shawn is obviously still using the DX gimmick, complete with music, video, and attire. I believe that we should keep them as a stable until this changes.Freebird Jackson 15:35, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

One person does not make a stable or tag team, these are clearly defined as more than one person. So no, they shouldn't be listed. Bmg916 Speak to Me 15:43, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

True, but not only because of what I've said alredy, but also because he is announced as "D-Generation X member..." every time he comes to the ring, as if they are still active, I believe it should still be on the page, or at least noted somehow.Freebird Jackson 02:09, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
They do not team regularly, they don't go in here. Same goes for Kane and Undertaker. Bmg916 Speak to Me 02:18, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] John Carle is the writers' assistant for Raw

I don't know why someone keeps taking John Carle off of the creative team for Raw. He is the writers' assistant, which means he does all the grunt work. Just like Pant is the writers' assistant on ECW, and just like how Travis was the writers' assistant for Smackdown until he was let go of. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.110.6.106 (talk) 03:12, 15 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Beulah

I read online that Beulah McGillicutty is still under WWE contract. Should she be put under the ECW section, unassigned talent, other, or just kept off? I found it out at http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/headlines/170996615.shtml Nyycraze13 23:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Champions Sections...

It looks like crap. I tried editing it but it looks fine on the edit page. They should not be in the article in the style of a single sentenance......Gavyn Sykes 21:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Whoever cleaned that up, thanks. I tried a few different ways of doing so myself but nothing worked...Gavyn Sykes 21:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent releases

Anyone know who Thomas Farra is? He's one of the developmental names released. I'm thinking it's Tommy Suede, but I'm not sure. --James Duggan 23:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

yeah im pretty sure its him. on the deep south wrestling website, they took off anyone who was released, and suede was one taken off. ill take him off. Nyycraze13 00:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Really? I just checked the DSW website and Taylor, Santarelli and Suede are all still there. --James Duggan 02:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Crap really sorry i screwed up i was being ignorant and just scanned it and saw tommy suede wasnt there....i wasnt looking hard so i didnt notice his profile as justsuede. really sorry for the mix-up and ill check the sources better next time. but i think farrah is suede, we just dont have evidence. again my apologies Nyycraze13 03:02, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I also noticed that Devin Driscoll is no longer on the OVW website's roster list, and Gerweck.net is showing him as released. Anyone know the story there? --James Duggan 02:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think Devin is released. DSW and OVW websites are known to be updated slowly. RobJ1981 02:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, but he was on that roster page when they revamped the site, but now he's gone. Same with Eddie Kraven, though he was never under WWE contract. --James Duggan 02:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

According to the guy that does the results on the DSW website, Suede was released.[1] So Thomas Farra mostly likely is (Tommy) Suede.MikeH411 03:56, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Excellent, thank you. --James Duggan 04:39, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

OVW and DSW have updated their rosters. OVW took down the profiles for Bull, Skyfire and Reeves, while DSW removed Mike and Tracy Taylor, Santarelli and Suede, so I think it's safe to say that Tommy Suede is Thomas Farra. --James Duggan 03:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]  !

Dosen't Smackdown have an "!" at the end in the logo? Should it not be there with written text as well? I've been revising it to include the "!" and someone keeps undoing it. If you can give me a good, solid reason as to why, I'll back off. I'm not trying to start an edit war. I'd just like an explanation. Thanks Gavyn Sykes 02:10, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Look at the WWE website, they removed all references of the "!" in SmackDown, including the logo. --James Duggan 02:12, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Good enough for me, subject closed.Gavyn Sykes 02:15, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, if you watch the show you will see they still use !. TJ Spyke 03:39, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Permanent page protection.

I don't know why the sprotect was taken away, but I think it needs to be permanent. I have noticed alot of bad edits from IPs. So what does everyone else think for putting back the protection? Govvy 18:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, every few hours I check this page and something's different. Mike Knox's removal is very popular, he has not been officially released, his name should still be on the ECW Roster....Gavyn Sykes 18:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I think the page should be protected full time. As another example: many people re-add Undertaker and Kane to the Smackdown teams section: but they aren't a regular team. They've only teamed so far (to my knowledge at least): because of the singles feuds they had with MVP and Kennedy. I even added a warning at one point, but it got deleted. RobJ1981 23:48, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Although this article is a common target for misinformation (in fact it is the 17th most vandalized article on Wikipedia), it cannot be protected full-time. It is against semi-protection policy to protect the article full-time. You can request semi-protection at WP:RFPP, but other than that, you just have to bear with it and check the history every once in a while. As a side note, I wish you would all stop to read the policy pages before requesting actions contrary to the policies intentions. semper fiMoe 00:51, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mondo and Nemeth

On the 1/20 OVW show, Mike Mondo(formerly Mikey) and Nick Nemeth (Nicky) wrestled. Should they be added to the OVW roster? Nyycraze13 23:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes they should and they have been added. --- Belevsquad  (talk)  01:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] K.C. James & Idol Stevens

They have been inactive now for over 3 months.(Since Nov 6th 2006) I have put them on the inactive list for SmackDown, but they keep going back on the main roster. I don't know what the hidden rule is for when you add inactive stars to the inactive list. But 3 months is a fair time in wrestling and I just wanted a few other thoughts from some other people if they feel they should be on the main roster or inactive? Govvy 14:14, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maryse

I added Maryse to smackdown because they added her profile to wwe.com Nyycraze13 18:08, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kennedy

I have heard the Cole and JBL refer to him as "Ken Kennedy" on very rare occasions in the last few months. I figured I'd throw this here, since an edit war seems to be ensuing.Gavyn Sykes 05:44, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

There would be no problems if people would just leave it alone. He has been called Ken on Smackdown at times. Also at WWE.com, they call him Ken. Proof is right here: [2]. I think people need to actually check before just changing it. RobJ1981 05:54, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
And it's not like we have to follow kayfabe either. We all know his first name is Ken, both in character and real life, so just because he kayfabe prefers to be called Mr. Kennedy doesn't mean we have to list him as Mr. Kennedy. Same goes for Snitsky. Just because they rarely mention his first name anymore doesn't mean we shouldn't. --James Duggan 06:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
And just because a few editors are against it: doesn't mean they should control the article. It was discussed before (right on this talk page): Mr. (Ken) Kennedy and Gene Snitsky were fine to be listed like that. RobJ1981 06:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Layla on ECW

Just because Layla made an appearance on ECW, that doesn't mean that she in now apart of the ECW brand. This is a similiar Special Appearance by Torrie Wilson back in August of 2006. Therefore Layla will remain in the Smackdown! roster.

JustMaria 04:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not so sure. Now, I didn't see it because I'm in Canada and we can't see it until Friday at Midnight, but judging by what WWE is saying, it looks like Kelly, Layla and Brooke are the New ECW's version of the Nitro Girls now. Of course, WWE isn't that quick in updating their roster pages, so Layla is still listed under SmackDown. But, to be fair, we should wait until WWE confirms that she is indeed part of ECW before we move her. --James Duggan 05:52, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Unless they state that any individual is a new extremist then she isn't one. Govvy 09:38, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Well over at ecw.com they have listed Layla..So I guess is official

JustMaria 00:16, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

.......I've never seen Trinity wrestle a match and she's listed under female wrestlers. (She may have, I could have missed it. Kelly Kelly has been in two matches and is listed under other on-air talent. Someone clarify? Gavyn Sykes 02:52, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stevie Richards and Mike Knox

Does Richards ever wrestle? I've never seen him. Does he only do Dark Matches or something?

WWE.com has removed the superstar release article from their main page. This may mean Mike Knox will not be fired, since that seemed to be debated a while back. Haven't seen him since he dumped Kelly Kelly. Dark Matches again? Gavyn Sykes

[edit] smackdowns tag teams

should we add Deuce and Domino with Cherry as the untouchables and William Regal and Dave Taylor as blue bloods.

No, they aren't going by those names right now, what we have now is what they are going by. --James Duggan 04:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why are inactive teams listed for Smackdown?

Scotty+Funaki: I did some checking, and unless I'm wrong... haven't teamed since late October on TV). KC James+Idol Stevens: Haven't teamed since November. Why aren't they listed in inactive sections? The team list should be for active teams only. Scotty and Funaki might team again, but who knows? James+Stevens = off TV because their manager is off. Since both teams are clearly inactive, both shouldn't be in the teams sections. Teaming at house shows would be something, but I don't think either team has even done that recently. RobJ1981 17:26, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

As a further comment: I would remove them, but I'm sure people would re-add them. A discussion about this should take place. RobJ1981 23:29, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind removing them also! I would say if you haven't seen them in 3 months then bye bye!! Govvy 23:56, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I've removed Scotty and Funaki from the teams section, and put Stevens+James in inactive as solo wrestlers. I can bet it will be reverted, but we will see. The roster page should be accurate: the teams are obviously inactive. And who really knows if Scotty and Funaki will team again? I don't even think they have a team profile or anything on WWE.com. RobJ1981 14:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

If you are removing James/Stevens and Scotty/Funaki because their teams are inactive, then why aren't we removing DX? Triple H will be gone for months! DaHumorist 11:50, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Because HBK is still using the DX attire and music, and still considers it to be "alive".Freebird Jackson 22:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree, DX should be removed. Triple H is injured and not on TV right now, a stable or team isn't just one active member. The article should be accurate, not full of exceptions just because the team is still mentioned on TV. RobJ1981 22:12, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Scotty is now on Raw (see WWE.com roster pages), so it looks like they are no longer a team. As for the issue itself, active or not, they are still a tag team for that brand, so they should be listed, as they will be back as teams in the not too distant future. However, Idol Stevens, and I believe KC James as well, are back wrestling for OVW, and I am not sure if they will return as a team. --James Duggan 04:50, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia isn't a crystal ball, we can't just assume they will team again (when they return to Raw or Smackdown). Wrestlers not appearing on TV for a while, are put in an inactive section, the same should apply to teams. We can't just list every team that "might" team again, upon their TV return. RobJ1981 04:56, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
But by your standards, that Wikipedia isnt a crystal ball, which I agree upon no two ways about it, we also cannot assume, that when someone returns from injury they wont return, so until there is an offical breakup of the team (i.e: they announce it on WWE, members switch brands, they have a falling out etc.), then they are still a team. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Legendary One (talkcontribs) 03:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Cross brand tag teams.

I am sure you have all noticed The Hardy's and MNM tag teams who reside on Raw and SmackDown. Basicly I was wondering if we should add another category on the roster for cross brand tag teams? Govvy 10:11, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

No i dont think so as this is just part of the storyline and Matt and Mercury are just SmackDown guys and Jeff and Johnny are Raw and they team on any brand because of the roster each one is on ----Belevsquad 11:21, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Taker

Just because The Undertaker appeared on Raw and is challenging Cena does it really offically mean he's moved to Raw? Gavyn Sykes 04:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Until WWE confirms which champ 'Taker will face, he should be kept on SD. --James Duggan 04:44, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

True. But when they confirm would he have to move to Raw right away or could he stay on Smackdown until Wrestlemania? Gavyn Sykes 04:54, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

When Undertaker decides which Champion to face, he will become a member of that brand (a la Chris Benoit in '04), until then, he will likely be appearing on all 3 shows to play up the "Who will he face?" storyline. He should still be considered Smackdown property until he makes his choice, because that is his home brand, so leave him there please. Ohgltxg 22:32 31 January, 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough. Gavyn Sykes 21:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Scotty Too Hotty

Scotty Too Hotty has appeared on the 02/02/07 webcast of Heat, since Heat is RAW only superstars, does this mean Scotty is on RAW now?74.111.240.247 14:46, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Yep ---Belevsquad 04:00, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
He faught Helms on the Feb 16th airing of Smackdown... whats going on with this guy?74.111.240.247 02:25, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
WWE can't make up their mind where they want him. They've re-added him to the SD roster on WWE.com. --James Duggan 05:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Daniel Rodimer

I've put Daniel Rodimer under Unasigned for now as he was on Heat and had a real entry unlike other jobbers on Heat and Coach kept saying this is his debut fof Raw. ---Belevsquad 04:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that too, but what I remember Coach saying is that Rodimer is being considered for a contract. He didn't say that Rodimer had a contract yet. Govvy 11:17, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Miz

I think it's a stupid name, but maybe we should just list Mike Mizanin as "The Miz". That is what Cole and JBL always call him, it's what Chimel announces him as, it's what wwe.com calls him, and it's what the on-screen graphic says. He hasn't been called by his real name in several weeks. TJ Spyke 03:41, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah i think the name is stupid also but i'd say to have it as Mike "The Miz" Mizanin because ive noticed this week on SmackDown it says Mike Mizanin on the SmackDown name bar but ive also heard Chimel call him The Miz at the same time. __Belevsquad 13:44, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inactive List

Please do not put anybody on the inactive list until they have been confirmed to be injured or have been confirmed to be pulled off the road.

Granted, Mike Knox hasn't wrestled much lately, but he is still part of the active roster unless confirmed otherwise.

Guys like K.C. James and Idol Stevens have been confirmed inactive due to Michelle McCool's illness (source: 411mania.com), so they're fine where they are.

Ohgltxg 06:57 7 February, 2007 (UTC)

411mania.com isn't a very good source, but it was released on wwe.com that she was recovering that's when I moved her to inactive talent. Govvy 11:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shannon Moore?

Shannon Moore on SmackDown this week? Was that a debut? ---Belevsquad 06:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I think it might be, but I would wait before adding him to Smackdown. Same goes for Scotty Too Hotty. WWE could just be doing a cruiserweight open, and it could be just brief appearances for both. RobJ1981 07:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Scotty's been re-added to the SD roster on WWE.com. Moore, on the other hand, is still listed as an Extremist. --James Duggan 05:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Someone moved Moore to Smackdown! He's still listed as an Extremist. Gavyn Sykes 19:12, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Not anymore, he's now on the SD roster on WWE.com. --James Duggan 05:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Little Boogeyman

Anyone have any info on who the Little Boogeyman is?74.111.240.247 14:10, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wellness Program?

Just noticed this on the roster next to Test name, anyone tell me what this is? Govvy 22:57, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Basically it's a drug & steroid policy. I checked wwe.com and found this (I couln't find the original announcement): [3] TJ Spyke 07:47, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, that explains it better, Should we not add that link next to comment on Test? Govvy 10:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Ringname Debate... again

While I understand that we "don't use ringnames", I think sometimes it is appropriate and, in fact, sometimes we do when it is inherently part of a wrestler's persona ("Stone Cold" Steve Austin, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, Jerry "The King" Lawler, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat). And what would we do with Bret "The Hitman" Hart or Greg "The Hammer" Velentine? I think that this situation applies to "The Alpha Male" Marcus Cor Von, it is a name that has traveled with him from the Indies to TNA to now WWE/ECW, the commentators refer to him by it very frequently, and it even comes up on his entrance lower-thirds. Perhaps this instance should be reconsidered. DaHumorist talk 8:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree. This needs to be consistent. Either take them off of the others like Duggan or Lawler or add them to the others like Cor Von and Masters. "The Masterpiece" does appear during his entrance. Gavyn Sykes 19:36, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Of course this isn't to say it should appear for guys like "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit, "The Big Red Machine" Kane, or "The Game" Triple H, but rather when it is inherently a part of their ringname. DaHumorist talk 15:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Very true. "The Animal" isn't part of Batista's ring name either for example. But "The Alpha Male", "The Masterpiece" and others like that are clearly part of the ring names. I've not heard the ring announcers ever skip over that. Actually, that's true for Shawn Michaels as well - Lillian Garcia always announces him as "The Heart Break Kid" Shawm Michaels among other things. Gavyn Sykes 21:56, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Nicknames shouldn't be listed with their ringname. Monty Brown's current ringname is Marcus Cor Von, "The Alpha Male" is his nickname. Just because a wrestler used the nickname most of the time doesn't make it part of their ringname. TJ Spyke 02:48, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Again, that brings up questions. Why is Jim Duggan listed as "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and Chris Masters isn't listed as "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters. Both appear in front or above of the rest of their ringnames and are spoken each entrance by the ring announcers. Gavyn Sykes 04:29, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

All nicknames should be listed or none at all, is my opinion on the matter. Ring announcers mention some things such as Hacksaw and so on in the introductions, but with other people they don't (such as Benoit and others). Going by what ring announcers say isn't completely accurate, considering they aren't 100 % consistent all the time. RobJ1981 05:04, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
I have always been an advocate of removing nicknames (at least on roster pages and on match results). TJ Spyke 03:46, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

This really needs to be resolved. It's been edited again. Gavyn Sykes 04:23, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mark Henry

returning soon is not good enough, we need to let readers know the specific dates when he returns, and shouldn't we put mysterio on the active list now, he returned last night —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.50.132.117 (talk) 06:14, 21 February 2007 (UTC).

His return has not yet been televised, so no. Gavyn Sykes 15:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

We don't know when Henry will return, so putting any kind of date would be speculation. Also, Mysterio isn't active since he is still recovering (which he himself said at the SmackDown taping). All Mysterio said was that his healing is coming along very well. TJ Spyke 05:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
would it be an idea for him to be added to the OVW roster seeing as he is currently in preperation there???Cradle666 11:57, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] redirect

Why does the ECW Inactive list on the contents box redirect to the RAW inactive list, and is there a way to fix?Freebird Jackson 20:56, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Fixed. — Moe 22:28, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ECW Vixens

Should the Vixens of ECW be under the same heading but not called Female Wrestlers because they dont wrestle. Don.-.J 17:06, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Kelly Kelly and Ariel have wrestled on two occasions. Not sure about Trinity though.....Gavyn Sykes 17:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article butchered.

This needs to be reverted ASAP. Someone put "face" or "heel" in parenthesis after every wrestler, with some reading "a face at some times but used to be a heel" and other crap like that. Gavyn Sykes 05:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I reverted it, something like that should be discussed here first. TJ Spyke 06:12, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Seems to be more vandalism. Someone has listed Paul Wight (The Big Show) as ECW's General Manager. Actually, thinking about it, that would fit in with Vince's plan of making Lashley's life a living hell. Even if it is true, which is still doubt, it shouldn't be listed until it airs....Gavyn Sykes 02:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] La Resistance

Just a note. But La Resistance has been removed from the ECW roster page on WWE.com... DaHumorist 11:42, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mickie Henson

Why is Mickie Henson still listed as ECW. He reffed the match between Booker & Kane last week on SD and this week between Ashley & Jillian and Lashley & Kennedy????? ---Belevsquad 12:17, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't know, but unless someone objects to it I'd move him to SD and take Dewey Larson off of ECW, he hasn't been seen since Scott Armstrong was hired and sent to ECW. I thnk Henson's replacing Nick Patrick who's been doing color commentary for DSW.Ken S. 20:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Keneddy question

i heard that keneddy was going to ecw :( is there any fact to this rumour? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 211.29.169.142 (talk) 09:27, 5 March 2007 (UTC).

I haven't heard anything about that, but I'll keep my eyes open. Gamer928 16:19, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Injuries?

are mysterio and henry going to be back before wrestlemania? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.50.132.152 (talk) 08:36, 6 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Big Show

I understand his contract ended last month. Someone might want to double check that and look into it. --James Duggan 04:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] who the

who is looking after the page its being consisntantly vandalsied like gregory helms it goes likes it up the but and adds mike fagoot to smackdown come on wiki shouldnt take that crap —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.132.175.162 (talk) 07:05, 7 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] STOP REMOVING THE "NON WRESTLING DIVAS"!

To whoever keeps removing the likes of Vickie Guerrero, Cherry (Smackdown) and Brooke (ECW) from the roster page, STOP IT NOW!

While they may not wrestle per se, they are all featured on their respective shows, and are all on WWE.com's roster pages.

Ohgltxg 06:54, 7 March, 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Return timeframes for inactives

I saw recently that the return timeframes for the inactive talent were removed. For future guidance, is there any particular reason why?

--Tidus the BlitzStar 01:21, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inactive Tag Teams

Stop adding them! DX is not active. Kane and Taker are not tagging together often, nor are Kennedy and MVP. And whoever keeps putting DX back on dosen't even spell the stable name right, so the link wouldn't work in the first place. Gavyn Sykes 20:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Max Bretos

About Max - is his name Bretos or Bertos because on the latest edition of Heat they spelt it as Bertos. Any thoughts? --Belevsquad 22:50, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

It's Bretos. I did a google search and found soccer-related sites spelling it that way. (He was previously a soccer announcer) -DaHumorist 21:53, 16 March 2007

[edit] Illogical organisation

Brad Armstrong is in Unassigned talent, yet other on-screen personalities like Mick Foley and Shane McMahon are put into Other employees. It was changed for a reason. Explanation for this stupidity, please? Edit: I've fixed it all now. Please post reasoning as to exactly why you're changing something if you are. Explanation for my changes:

  • New category for miscellaneous talent that should be separated from both the Trainers category and also the Other employees category.
  • Workers that make occasional appearances (such as Mick Foley and Eric Bischoff) are placed in Miscellaneous talent, as they should be separated from workers such as costume and set designers.
  • Unassigned talent is now a sub-category in miscellaneous talent. It's the best place.
  • Josh Mathews, Gene Okerlund and Howard Finkel are part-time/inactive commentators/announcers/interviewers. They're the only three, as Brad Armstrong is still listed in Unassigned, so they have a category in Miscellaneous talent, for the same reasons as the workers that make occasional appearances.
  • The Spanish commentators are also included in this section.

  • Workers from Talent Relations do similar work to the Trainers and Producers and should be included in that category.

  • Some workers are listed twice, because they need to be. Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon need to be mentioned in separate categories, as they do major work in both fields. Josh Mathews is also in two categories, for the same reasons but to a lesser extent.

Basically, I don't know why you want to include all miscellaneous workers in the Other category, rather than giving important people their own categories.

Ok, why are the Spanish Commentators listed as having "minor roles?" It's not English so it's automatically minor, trivial and unimportant? Gavyn Sykes 23:43, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

It's minor because it's a small role within the entire company. Ask the average WWE fan, who will happen to be American obviously, and they won't even be able to name the Spanish announcers. I didn't even know of Marcelo Rodriguez until I read this page. That's all.Njgio 00:06, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
