Talk:World Federation of KSI Muslim Communities
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
They are an established publisher, one of their books[1] is on google books, another of their books is referenced in two other google books [2], [3]. And that they got to publish Sistani's fiqh book goes a looong way in establishing notability. And then we have not even mentioned the endorsement they got from Muslim Council of Britain and their director having whole articles in shianews.com, a well known Shi'a site. --Striver - talk 01:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notable
I need some third party feedback, is this publishing organization notable? --Striver - talk 21:03, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- The organization may be notable, but nothing in the article really asserts that. Do they meet the standards of WP:CORP? If not, how many books do they move? Are they the sole publisher for their books? Their conference report is Fully Buzzword Compliant, but there's some indication that the organization is not serving its member organizations well - are there many groups which rely on them, or would anyone notice if they disbanded? Have they been involved in any big controversy anywhere? Do they get mention in local media in the UK?
- The article is a mess - even if the subject is notable enough for Wikipedia, it needs a major cleanup. Argyriou (talk) 21:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have had a hard time to find any mainstream news coverage of the organizatinon, but they are the original publishers of several books, A Restatmen is popular among Shi'a and they were the ones that translated Sistanis Fiqh work, and one of their books is one google video. Also, i just added a list of other books they publish. Their chairman has several times forworded books and he seems has held several speeches, one in Shianews, and he as been mentioned in a mainstream newspaper... does all of that add up? --Striver - talk 22:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely certain that they're a "notable" organization. Some groups are very effective at making themselves look like they're much larger and more important than they really are, and I suspect that some of that is going on with this group. On the other hand, they do seem to be an important publisher in their specialty. Perhaps you could find something about them either in the publishing trade press, or in the Muslim press, provided it's not in a paper associated with the world federation. On the other hand, the article is looking better. Argyriou (talk) 18:24, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
