[edit] History

105.5 had been broadcasting in Louisa since 1980. 105.5 started out as "105 Country" WLSA. On 27 May 2004, WLSA switched to Oldies 105, playing 60's and 70's hits; when Piedmont bought the station, it was all ready to go within 36 hours. At the same time, they switched their call letters to WOJL. Then, on 2 July 2005, it was switched to Sam FM, playing Adult Hits. 105.5's listening area extends from Charlottesville to the west side of Richmond.
