From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WNOW in Charlotte, North Carolina is a Spanish radio station known as Radio Lider.

The station was signed on in 1985 as a Contemporary Christian Station by the founding general manager, Ken Mayfield. Russ Jones took over as manager soon after Mayfield's departure in 1989. The station operates as a 10,000 watt day-time only outlet. It is now owned by Davidson Broadcasting.

Although WNOW carries the programing of "Radio Lider," this name is owned, and programing produced by a separate company called Orbimedia Lider Communications Inc. http://radiolidernetwork.com or http://orbimedia.com.

Orbimedia first began to rent time on WNOW in 1994 and only for a few ours on Saturdays afternoons. later, Orbimedia began to rent larger portions of time and added music programming, a departure from it's main TALK format.
