WKBC-AM broadcasts at 800 kHz. The station is licensed to broadcast at 1,000 watts in the daytime and alternating power during the late night hours.
WKBC-FM broadcasts at 97.3 MHz. It has a 100,000 watt signal strength that carries into Winston-Salem and Charlotte in North Carolina and Reaching Johnson City in Tennessee and Rock Hill in South Carolina. In October 2006, 97.3 WKBC was picked by critics of Charlotte's Creative Loafing Magazine as the Best "Charlotte" radio station of 2006; even though WKBC is located roughly an hour outside of Charlotte.
