WIXV-FM (I-95, The Rock of Savannah) is a classic rock station targeted to Savannah, Georgia. It is owned by Cumulus Broadcasting. The format is about 75% general classic rock with about 25% newer artists (often referred to as "future classics") such as REM, Pearl Jam, and the Black Crowes. The current rock format has been on the air since 1986, when they took the format from 97.3 (known as 97 Rock). Since Cumulus took ownership in 1997, the station shifted from a current-based hard rock station with a few classics played every now and then to a total classic rock station with a few current rock songs played every now and then.
In 2006, the station touted that it was celebrating its 20th anniversary, despite the fact that Cumulus has only owned the station since 1997.
