Witton, West Midlands

Witton is an "inner city" area within the ancient parish of Aston, now in Birmingham, England. It is probably most well known as home to Aston Villa Football Club.
Witton was also the base of industrial company IMI plc and also The General Electric Co.Ltd (GEC) had a very large engineering works there, at one time employing 11,000 people on the site.
Other notable features of Witton are its diverse inhabitants, Witton Cemetery, the River Tame, the remains of Witton Hall and Witton railway station.
