Winthrop-University Hospital

Winthrop-University Hospital, is a 591-bed hospital located in Mineola, New York, on Long Island. Founded in 1896, as Nassau Hospital, it is a teaching hospital of the State University of New York at Stony Brook's medical college.

Winthrop, a Level I trauma center, is affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System.

Winthrop has a heliport, the airport ID of which is NK37. [1]

Winthrop-University Hospital has no affiliation with Winthrop University.

The hospital's internal medicine department is run by medical residents rather than PAs, who run the telemetry units.

Winthrop-University Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine.

Michael S. Niederman is the Chairman of Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital.
