Winston Garland

Winston Garland (born December 19, 1964, in Gary, Indiana) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2nd round (40th overall) of the 1987 NBA Draft. A 6'2" guard from Southwest Missouri State University, Garland played in 7 NBA seasons for 5 different teams. He played for the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his NBA career, Garland played in 511 games and scored a total of 4,799 points. His best year as a professional came during the 1988-89 season as a member of the Warriors, appearing in 79 games and averaging 14.5 ppg. In his rookie campaign, Garland was the first Warrior to record a triple double in five years. He also played one year professionally in Italy, for Benneton. In high school, as a junior, he played for Roosevelt High School, the same school that produced NBA Veterans, Dick Barnett and Glenn Robinson,in the 1982 Indiana State Championship. Roosevelt lost the championship game in the last seconds to Plymouth High School, which was led by Scott Skiles, former NBA veteran and current head coach for the Chicago Bulls.
