[edit] History

Francis Emmanuel Romero Soriano, more popularly known as Wings, has been in the Filipino acoustic scene for quite some time now. After doing the vocal work for a string of Filipino variety bands, starting off with Painted Wings, to 7th Soul, to Unity, Wings decided that it was time to start creating.

He started his creative journey by being the producer of a widely established song, “Let Me Be The One” by Jimmy Bondoc. This little backyard undertaking of theirs, which eventually earned an Awit Awards nomination in 2005, propelled a good surge of confidence between the colleagues. But this was only just a first step for Wings, for his creations were yet to be fashioned. As soon as he landed a record deal with Synergy Music Corp., the conception of his own songs began. The production of his album “The Way It Is Now…” commenced on October 2003.

With the songs, “You’ll Always Be Mine,” “The Way It Is Now,” and “Say Your Goodbyes,” Wings Soriano’s momentum in songwriting started taking flight. But it was not all good for Soriano's career, for his dream of performing his art was wildly being hindered by Agoraphobia. Anxiety attacks were always lurking right before shows, radio, and television guestings. His tough struggle cornered him into taking a 2 year hiatus.

As far away from public pressure as possible, Wings took advantage of the absence of stress. He wrote songs and recorded them almost religiously. Currently, Wings is in the process of weaning himself away from his solace by finalizing his comeback album featuring songs like, “Walang Pilitan,” “Kung Pwede Lang,” “Imbento,” and a line-up of creations embracing a more alternative feel.
