Wing It
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wing It is a popular restaurant located in Allston, MA. They specialize in spicy chicken wings, though in total, 21 different flavors are available. The franchise was created in 1986 by three UMASS Amherst graduate students, originally run out their kitchen. After popularity of the business grew, a take-out restaurant was opened in Allston. When demands for a sit-down restaurant were realized, the business moved to its final location on Commonwealth Avenue.
The restaurant has largely been popularized by the college students living in Allston and the surrounding areas. These students make up a huge percentage of Allston's population, and generally attend a proximal university, such as Boston University, Northeastern University and Boston College. The restaurant's trademark logo of a bird with glasses has been adopted by many college students as "the wingman," and his expression commonly referred to as "the wingman stare." The bird has no official name, according to the management. Wing It's customer base continues to grow as the populations of Allston, Brighton, MA, and Brookline, MA increase.
In addition, their patented suicide wings cause unexplained sweating of even the toughest mouths. Many have found their eye lids and inner ears dripping with wing-induced saturation.[citation needed]
