Winegardner and Hammons Inc

Winegarder and Hammons Inc (WHI) is a hotel management company, based in Blue Ash, Ohio. The company was founded in 1958 when Roy E. Winegardner and John Q. Hammons founded a private company to develop Holiday Inn hotels. The company was incorporated in 1966 after constructing over 30 Holiday Inns. In 1978, J. Erik Kamfjord was named President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WHI. WHI also provides financial and accounting services for John Q. Hammons Hotels Inc, another hotel management firm.
John Q. Hammons and Roy E. Winegardner still actively serve their company. Hammons and Winegardner are Vice Chairmen. In 2000, Kamfjord became Chairman of the Board while retaining his duties as CEO. Keith Daub assumed the role of President in addition to Chief Operating Officer.
Currently, WHI manages twenty-eight properties under the Marriott, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, Homewood Suites, Quality Suites, and Radisson flagships. In addition, WHI also manages the Ohio University Inn in Athens, Ohio, and the University Plaza Hotel in Columbus, Ohio.
WHI has been recognized as a leader in guest satisfaction and product quality. One of WHI's Holiday Inn properties, near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, has won seven consecutive Torchbearer awards, more than any other property in the Holiday Inn system. The Torchbearer award is given to the top 1% of all InterContinental Hotels Group properties worldwide.
