[edit] History
The program was started in 1988 by Akos Tozer, Heath Chantler, Stu Baille and current Rugby Canada CEO Graham Brown. The Lancers originally played in the Michigan Collegiate League against teams like Michigan State University, Bowling Green State University, University of Michigan, and Western Michigan University.
In 2000, the team was given full varsity status at the University of Windsor, and gained entry to the Ontario University Athletics conference.
