Talk:Windows Live Clipboard
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As a member of the team that developed Live Clipboard, I have a few comments about the article:
- The name of the technology is "Live Clipboard" not "Windows Live Clipboard"
- The example page referenced at the end of the article stopped working for a period of time due to a server misconfiguration. The page is now repaired and does work in IE7 and Firefox 2.
- Although admittedly, adoption has been somewhat slower than anticipated, Microsoft definitely has not discontinued the idea. For now, here are two existing implementations of Live Clipboard in real applications:
- Eventful - Copy events using Live Clipboard.
- Windows Live Writer - Has an SDK enabling developers to create plug-ins that handle any type of data pasted into a blog post using Live Clipboard. One example is the Event Plugin for Windows Live Writer - Enables pasting of events into blog posts using Live Clipboard.
To illustrate these applications of Live Clipboard, I created a screencast that demonstrates how to copy an event from Eventful.com and paste it into a blog post in Windows Live Writer.
