This comment on the correct identification of the rifle in the image is interesting. But it probably belongs here on the talk page. I think, without verifiable external citations, this would count as original research. -- Geo Swan 14:36, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

It's not original research, the information in question is taken straight out of the Blue Book of Gun Values, S. P. Fjestad, 13th Edition. Someone put that image in the lever action article, and it was later recaptioned to be a Winchester Model 1894 rifle, with it is definately not. I can't say for certain what the rifle is without being able to examine it, but I can certainly look up refrences and say what it isn't, and list the possibilities with the given information. If I can track down an e-mail address to contact someone at the Grant-Kohrs Ranch I might send them a note and see if they have any more information on the rifle--that should count as an authoritative source. scot 15:14, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
