The Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is the county-wide, statutory emergency fire and rescue service for the ceremonial county of Wiltshire, England. It is administered by a joint authority of 13 members, 9 appointed by Wiltshire County Council and 4 by Swindon Borough Council. They serve for an annual term.[1]

The service is also one of the few to have trained in cave and quarry rescue, having to cover the underground area of Corsham. The fire and rescue service's headquarters is located at Manor House, Potterne, Devizes, Wiltshire.

[edit] Nucleus

Nucleus Fire Stations consist of a core staff of wholetime firefighters that work day shifts, fire cover is then provided on a retained basis during the night and at weekends. The main difference between Nucleus and Day Crewed Stations is that Nucleus work a regular working week, 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday).
