Wilson Bowden

Wilson Bowden plc is a British housebuilding and general construction company headquartered in Leicester in central England. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

Wilson Bowden was founded in 1961 and has three divisions:

  • David Wilson Homes: a general housebuilder which operates in most parts of England, Scotland and Wales.
  • Wilson City Homes: constructs urban residential buildings.
  • Wilson Bowden Developments Limited: undertakes retail, leisure, industrial and office development projects

Turnover for the year ended 31 December 2004 was £1,282.3 million. Profits were £257.8 million before tax and £176.6 million after tax.

In February 2007 Barratt Developments made an offer for Wilson Bowden for consideration which values the business at circa £2.2bn.[1]
