Wilhelmina "Willie" Scott is a fictional character from the 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. [edit] Character biography

Little is known of Scott's early life, other than the fact that she is a renowned Cabaret singer used to the trappings of an affluent lifestyle. She mentions that she is originally from Missouri towards the end of "Temple of Doom."

However, despite her capricious nature, Willie is also a hardened survivor of the Great Depression; she left Hollywood in the early 1930s, chasing apparently lucrative opportunities in the Orient.[1] Arriving in Shanghai, she quickly found herself in the employ of Lao Che; this arrangement continued until she met Indiana Jones - accompanying him in the quest to retrieve the stolen Sankara Stones (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). She and Jones had a brief romantic relationship following the successful recovery of the artifact.

[edit] Possible return

Steven Spielberg has hinted that Willie, along with Marion Ravenwood, is set to appear in the upcoming Indiana Jones 4.[citation needed]

[edit] Name

Just as Indiana Jones was named after George Lucas' dog "Indiana", Willie Scott was named after Steven Spielberg's dog "Willie".[2] Her full name, Wilhemina, is an homage to the Wilhelm scream, which sound designer Ben Burtt uses at least once in all the Indiana Jones films.[3]
