Williamstown High School (Victoria)

Williamstown High School is a state school situated in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia. Its current principal is Graeme Smith.

It has long been known for its environmental awareness and as a reward for its efforts it received an 11.5 million grant from the Government of Victoria to rebuild its Bayview St Campus in an environmentally sustainable way. It offers a range of subjects, including Maths, English, Science and SOSE and also offers students one of three LOTE (language other than English) subjects: French, Japanese and Indonesian. Other Subjects include Arts and Technology classes. Some VCE subjects taught include History and Legal Studies. The SOSE department at this school is regarded as one of the best in the region.

Williamstown High School is renowned for having one of the best music programs in a Victorian public school and has an annual concert in September to showcase the talents of the students. The School's Senior Concert Band also goes on a tour to country Victoria every December, at the end of the school year. In 2005 the Band travelled to the Wangaratta and Mansfield region. In 2006 they will be going to Echuca and Bendigo. Accompaning them on the tour will be the School's Stage Band.

There are two campuses, one which is located in Bayview Street, Williamstown and the other being located in Pasco Street, Williamstown. The principal of the Bayview Campus is Mr. Steve Cook and the Pasco Campus principal is Miss. Silvana Sena. The college principal is Mr. Graeme Smith.

The school is also renowned as being one of the best sporting schools in the area, winning many state awards, including the state swimming championships, beating Strathmore.
