William and Jean Eckart

William and Jean Eckart were a husband-and-wife pair of leading set designers in the 1950s and 60s. The two designed sets, costumes, and lighting for many shows, including Mame, Of Mice and Men, Here's Love, Once Upon a Mattress, and The Golden Apple.

In 2006, a book entitled The Performing Set: The Broadway Designs of William and Jean Eckart was published. The book includes sketches from every show the Eckarts designed.
