William Sylvester (January 31, 1922 – January 25, 1995) was an American TV and film actor. Among his film credits was Dr. Heywood Floyd in Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey. He can also be seen in a brief cameo as a German Luftwaffe officer at the beginning of The Hindenburg (1975). He co-starred in three films that were later featured on the TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000: Riding with Death, Devil Doll, and Gorgo (which led to the creation of a host segment in the latter episode concerning a "William Sylvester Edition" of Trivial Pursuit)
