William Sansom

William Sansom (January 18, 1912 - April 20, 1976) was a British writer who specialized in descriptions of London local life.
Sansom was born in London, where he was educated at Uppingham School, Rutland.
Since 1930 he worked in international banking for the British chapter of a German bank, but switch to an advertising comnpany in 1935, where he worked until World War II, during which he worked as a firefighter. After the war, Sansom became a full-time writer.
Sansom died in London.
