[edit] Recent developments

Hart district school modernization efforts have been under scrutiny from parents, students, board members, and other district staff. A recent Hart District audit revealed "questionable business practices and management of funds". Arroyo Seco Junior High School, Saugus High School, and Canyon High School are the three affected schools. Newspaper articles also revealed that these construction projects may not have been properly approved by the School Board before construction took place[1]. The employment contract of Rory Livingston, the assistant superintenent in charge of the modernization, was bought out for $234,000 to secure his departure from the district. [2] He was replaced by Michael Otavka who disputes that the project is over budget[3].
