The Most Reverend William Murphy is the fourth and current bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, serving in this capacity since 2001. As such, he is the head of the sixth largest diocese in the United States. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at The Catholic University of America.
